About me

Judy Lair

In 2002 I graduated with a M.A. in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. Licensed in the State of Ohio, I have operated a successful private practice since 2003. I am a Certified Coach Practitioner through Certified Coaches Alliance. I was born in Boise, Idaho in 1960. Our family moved to Alberta, Canada when I was 7 years old and relocated to Hershey, Pennsylvania seven years later. I moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1989 and now I am a Scarlet & Gray Buckeye. I have worked for a health insurance company, hospital E.R. registration, nonprofit ministries, litigation paralegal, and office manager for a psychiatrist.

My hectic life became overwhelming and I sought out counseling to sort through a divorce and my anxiety and depression. Together we focused on the truth of who I was created to be and the vision for my life. In 2002, I graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary with a Masters in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. I am licensed in Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor (LPCC-S) and have seen clients in private practice since January 2003.

As part of my internship with WellSpring Counseling, I co-facilitated numerous DivorceCare groups and put together a depression screening at a women’s health fair. I have enjoyed co-facilitating small groups at Celebrate Recovery, a Christian 12-step group. I love to speak to people and was excited to speak at MOPS of Dublin and was invited to be a speaker at the OCFoundation's annual conferences in 2007 and 2014.  I also created continuing education seminars for Ohio counselors. I obtained certification through the OCFoundation in their Behavior Therapy Training Institute for treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

At the age of 57, I can say I am enjoying my life more now than ever before.  In the last 5 years I've lost over 65lbs and 10 dress sizes, gained some awesome bicep muscles, traveled to Israel, and made some really good decisions designed to allow me to prosper in life and relationships.  My house is much quieter with my son living his own great life, but I enjoy friends, worship, traveling and cheering on the Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers!
